Yesterday we invited Future Scholars family members to join us on our first field trip of the year--apple picking at Johnson's Farm! Teachers, students, and family members all piled in school buses for a fun-filled ride to the Medford family farm. Once there, Johnson's staff members led us to our hayride! We took a tour of the farm and got to see all of the apple trees as well as pumpkin patches and corn fields! We all got off the hayride at the Empire apple tree area and that was where we picked apples! After everyone picked their fill of apples, we visited the animal feeding farm. Students fed special animal feed to the hungry sheep, goats, cows, and chickens! Baaaaa! Mooo! Cluck! Students had the opportunity to see apples and other crops growing on a farm after learning about apples this week at school. And with the beautiful weather, we had the perfect day to welcome fall! |
